News:Digitisation with Veridian News:New Veridian collection launched for Tufts University
Hello friend of Veridian,
This month we’re sharing more on our digitisation service, which follows best practice industry standards to create high quality data, including some impressive stats from the last year. Plus, we discuss the launch of Tufts University’s new collection titled Newspapers @
Tufts.
Digitisation with Veridian
When creating a digital collection, the quality of the data is incredibly important. At Veridian, our digitisation service follows best practice industry standards, allowing your collection material to be preserved more comprehensively and ensuring long term sustainability.
Our service includes project management of the data conversion
process, ensuring it runs smoothly and follows best practices, before moving to ingest the data into a collection. Good quality data using open standards will endure, even if you change content delivery systems in the future!
We have been quite successful with our digitisation service since officially launching two years ago (we carried out digitisation work previous to this, but 2020 saw digitisation become an official Veridian service).

digitisation.
New Veridian collection launched for Tufts University
The start of 2022 saw the unveiling of a new collection on Veridian for Tufts University, titled Newspapers @ Tufts. This is a digital collection of thousands of issues of their three major student newspapers, the Tufts Weekly, the Tufts Observer and the Tufts Daily.
We commenced discussions for this project with the Tufts Digital Collections and Archives team mid-2021, with completion scheduled for the end of the year. Tufts were looking for a platform more suitable for their content with newspaper-specific features that allowed for easy, searchable access to their past student publications.
