Our Team: Back in the saddle
In Focus: Papers Past hits 6 million newspaper pages

Hello friend of Veridian,

An update on our team and an important milestone for the National Library of New Zealand.
We're back in the saddle
It’s nice to be back among familiar faces here at the Veridian office.

Three weeks ago we returned to our desks albeit a little cautiously, after it was announced that New Zealand’s lockdown efforts had turned the tide on the spread of COVID-19.

Our schools, shops and restaurants have reopened and libraries have resumed onsite services. Kiwis are tentatively navigating ‘new normal’ ways of meeting and working together. For now we’re optimistic, with no remaining active cases of COVID-19 in the country.

We’ve welcomed two new developers, Ryan Hatherill and Wayne Sung to our team in recent months so it's great to give them a taste of our office culture. This month we had our first lunch together as a team of ten where a significant amount of pizza was consumed. Simple pleasures.

Sincere thanks to everyone who supported us during the lockdown with continued projects and lots of kind messages. We know these remain uncertain times for many of our customers and partners. We are thinking of you.
Papers Past - 6 million newspaper pages and counting
The National Library of New Zealand's archive of digitized newspapers from the Papers Past collection recently surpassed a whopping 6 million pages.

We've been working with the NLNZ on Papers Past since 2006. It's been wonderful to watch this busy collection grow so significantly with the addition of new newspaper titles and a broader date range covered.

Congratulations to the NLNZ team on reaching this important milestone.
Until next month, best wishes from the Veridian team
Stefan, Michael, Jeffrey, Andrew, Richard, Pei, Shane, Miriam, Ryan and Wayne.

P.S. June 5 was #WorldEnvironmentDay We're proud to be certified as a Zero Carbon business.
