Development news: Veridian joins the IIIF community
Collection update: A new interface for the Kaniʻāina collection
Hi Miriam,

We've been working behind the scenes on IIIF. Are you ready to get involved?

Veridian joins the IIIF Community
As global interest in the International Image Interoperability Framework (IIIF) has gained momentum, we’ve been working to add IIIF support to Veridian.

We’re pleased to announce that Veridian (as an IIIF server) is being developed to support both IIIF Image and Presentation APIs. These APIs will be available to existing Veridian collections after the next scheduled upgrade.

Our team is looking forward to working collaboratively with our customers and the IIIF community as the technology and adoption of IIIF advances.  We’d be interested to hear your thoughts/wishlists relating to IIIF and digital collections.

Please get in touch if you’d like to join the conversation!

New Interface for Kaniʻāina "Voices of the Land"
We are pleased to share Kaniʻāina, the first Veridian audio collection.

Kaniʻāina, "Voices of the Land," is digital library focusing on Native Hawaiian speech. It seeks to encourage and enhance the learning and use of Hawaiian through documentation and preservation.

Veridian engineers have just completed a refreshed user interface for this precious archive, which provides bilingual, interactive access to Native Hawaiian audio and transcripts.
Until next month, best wishes from the Veridian team - Stefan, Michael, Jeffrey, Andrew, Richard, Pei, Shane and Miriam.
